After some rejuvenating time off I am now nearing the end of my first week as a Director of Product Management for the PSS Live Services team at Sony Interactive Entertainment. Thus far it's been a whirlwind of new faces (and some familiar ones!), new information, and new opportunities to learn. Thank you to everyone for providing such a warm welcome and getting me up and running so quickly.I'm delighted to be able to call the brilliant folks at SIE my colleagues, thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of so many incredible teams, and fully nerding out to be working directly for my favorite game company and console. Looking forward to ramping up quickly and helping fulfill the mission - Pushing the Boundaries of Play!

Today marks my last active working day at Bungie.I debated posting anything about this given the recent RIF, but I have far too much admiration for my colleagues to disappear quietly into the night. So please bear with me while I briefly indulge and know that these words are written with the utmost respect to the folks who were impacted by this unfortunate event.About 6 1/2 years ago I walked into Bungie as a single discipline designer, with a single lens through which I viewed my work. As I built comradery with folks, I took full advantage of the abundance of talent around me to learn more about our craft. From artists, engineers, testers, producers, product managers, writers, strategic partnership facilitators, marketers, consumer product experts, player support teams, designers with other core competencies, and so much more, I can honestly say I spent most of my time at Bungie learning. The sheer volume of expertise housed on the teams here combined with a willingness to share and grow has taught me more than a lifetime studying game development from a classroom ever could. To each and every one of you I interacted with, whether you are still with Bungie or have departed, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have made me a better game developer and I will forever be grateful for that.I may have walked into Bungie as a single discipline designer, but I leave today a much wiser multi-disciplinary developer, with an array of lenses I have inherited through which I can view my craft far more holistically. To those who remain, the road ahead will be challenging and fraught with adversity. But I have seen your work. I have seen your passion. I have seen what happens when you put your collective talent into action. You will succeed. To those who are no longer with Bungie, you are gilded with a sheen of exceptionalism that no corporate downsizing or market downturn can take from you. I have every confidence this sheen will light the way to bigger and better things. Needless to say, please reach out to me if I can assist you on this journey. As for me, I'll be on PTO for a few weeks to get a breather, and then will be transferring to Sony Interactive Entertainment effective August 26 to take on an exciting new role (more on that later!).For now, I just want to bid a fond farewell to all my past and present Bungie colleagues. It was a wild, incredible, and educational ride, and I'll always remember it with a smile.Per audacia ad astra!

I don't have the proper words yet to extol the virtues of the amazing folks who were let go. I have no doubt most, if not all, will find new work under their own steam. But if any Bungie folks would like some assistance, I'd be happy to offer:- Signal boosts- Introductions within my network- Recommendations (here or direct to prospective employers)- Resume/Cover Letter reviewsPlease DM me here should any of these be of interest. Much love to all of you.
