You Can Count On Me - Chapter 122 - Cat231 - Biohazard (2024)

Chapter Text

“So are you ready to start our game?” Delilah asks excitedly, swinging around the fire pole once again.

“Why would I agree in the first place?” Ada asks in return.

“Because I'll just force you to join the organization without giving you a fair fighting chance,” the girl answers casually. “It's your call.”

“How considerate. You make me search all around the world just to then force me to join your little gang?”

“ORGANIZATION! And like I said, I'm giving you a chance to fight back. It's all fair in my book.”

“Uhuh,” Ada agrees halfheartedly.

“What do you say? Wanna play?”

“You sure know how to convince me,” the woman deadpanned.

“YIPEEEE! You have a knife on you right?”

Ada looks to the side for a moment. “No.”

“Perfect! Neither do I!” The girl admits casually. “Dean!”

The man by the gate nods and takes out two knives hidden in his jacket then walks over to Delilah and hands them both to her.

“Alrighty, Ada! Come on over here so I can give you your knife and we can get started!”

“How do I know you're not going to attempt an early attack?” Ada asks cautiously.

The girl giggles and tosses the blade toward Ada instead. “You know me so well already! Maybe we're soulmates!”

“Shut up,” Ada huffs, bending down to grab the blade.

“Awwww don't be mean like that!”

Disregarding the girl, Ada grips the knife in her hand and simply waits.

“Fine, we'll do this your way,” Delilah sighs. “Oh, but just so we're clear, only knives are allowed during this. So no using that fancy hook gun of yours or any other guns you have hidden under that cute black jacket of yours. Where did you get that, by the way?”

“France,” Ada answers.

“Ohoho~ fancy!” She replies, doing a terrible and stereotypical impersonation of a French person’s laugh.

“I'm ready to go when you are,” Ada replies, trying to push things faster.

“So eager and in charge! Just what I love in a wom-”

Becoming sick of hearing this girl talk her head off, Ada runs toward her and slashes the blade diagonally. Still in the middle of talking, Delilah had little time to focus and only barely managed to raise her arm in time to block the attack. When the two pieces of metal collided, a small spark formed between them and scattered into the air.

“Hey! Can you let me fi-”

Ada swings her arm down, aiming for the girl's arm that was holding the knife. Yet the girl was quick to block again, bending her elbow and scrunching it in.

Knowing she was going to need to reassess her strategy, Ada runs past the girl and stops behind the fire pole at the top right corner. Either this little girl had good reflexes or she was really skilled with a knife. Regardless of what it truly is, Ada had to be more careful not to perform large strikes again simply because she couldn't afford leaving herself open. She would have to focus on more small and simple attacks.

“Judging from the look on your face, I assume you weren't prepared for me to be a difficult opponent. I've fought with knives since I was eight, so I know my way around one and have seen many many many different tactics and tricks.”

“Save your tragic backstory for after I beat you,” Ada replies, dashing toward the girl once more.

“Oh, it's not that tragic actually,” *clang* “I left my parents of my own *shink* free will. The police tried to *clink* search for me but I managed to sneak away. After *ffss* that, I just explored the world and eventually started my *clang* organization.”

Ada backflips away, taking a second to catch her breath. No matter how much she swung her knife, she didn't even accumulate a scratch of damage. What made it more humiliating was the fact that Delilah was calmly explaining her past as if she didn't have a weapon swinging at her every few seconds.

“You're not taking this seriously yet, are you? It’s a little pathetic if you actually are. You seemed so skilled when you hurt my men - what happened?” The auburn-red haired girl mocks disappointedly. “Maybe you just need to feel the pressure a bit..!” She sprinted toward Ada at a moment's notice and thrust the knife. Ada didn't have enough time to put her guard up completely, so before the tip of the blade could reach her, Ada whips her elbow out, managing to redirect the weapon. Yet it still manages to stab into Ada's right shoulder since she couldn't react fast enough.

A shockwave of pain courses through Ada's arm and body yet a shot of adrenaline accompanied it. Before the girl could do anything else, Ada used the sole of her heel and kicked her away. Delilah coughs from the impact of Ada's heel against the center of her lungs and launches backward, landing on her back and coughing some more as she struggles to bring herself to her elbows.

**Graphic**

The knife was still deep inside Ada's shoulder, almost poking through the other side, yet grasping the handle of the blade, Ada yanks it out with a strangled groan. The knife drops to the ground with a loud clatter. A bit of blood spilled out from the wound, however it soon closed up and healed in a few short seconds.

Ada held her hand over the cut and pants until it no longer ached, standing tall with her skin showing no sign of the stab ever happening in the first place - not even a scab or anything.

“Holy f*cking sh*t…!” Delilah murmurs, staring at Ada with eyes as wide as a deer's.

“What I lack in knife combat, I make up for in defense and regeneration,” Ada gloats.

“I just came,” the girl mutters in total awe.

“....What?” Ada asks, not quite understanding what was going on with her opponent.

“Screw this game, can we just have sex right now!? I promise I won't kill you!” Delilah literally begs, jumping to her feet so fast it astonished Ada with how she managed to recover so quickly. Then again, it was probably that hyper sex drive of hers that was giving her a boost of… whatever was making her body move so fast. The girl ran up to Ada, clawing at the woman's jacket like her life depended on it.

Ada was too stunned to do anything for a moment but when she finally regained some composure, she shoved her hand in the girl's face. “Get away from me,” She huffs. However, the short girl was absolutely relentless and used Ada's jacket to keep herself attached to her.

“That face you made when you pulled out the knife was so sexyyyy! Nobody will ever top that! Please be my wife! I'll never kill you and will make sure you have the happiest - and smuttiest - life ever!”

“I want no part in your fantasies. Don't touch me!” Ada retorts, bringing her knee up to smash into the girl's jaw. That seemed to do the trick, thankfully, and while Delilah held her chin, Ada took advantage of the situation and swung her leg out again, this time aiming for the side of her opponent's head.

Delilah’s hair spread out in every direction as she collapsed to the floor. “Okay….” she mutters, “I might have gotten a little overzealous with you. Sorry about that…”

Ada didn't reply as she fixed her jacket that was on the verge of slipping off her arms.

“You hear me?” Delilah wonders, lifting her head up.

“You're not sorry,” Ada deadpanned. “Don't lie to me.”

The girl giggles as she staggers back up. “You got me. Let's save our marriage proposal for later. But before we resume our game, I think we should give you some extra motivation.” Delilah waves her hand in the air, most likely a signal of sorts. “From my understanding, you know this person.”

Ada raises an eyebrow and watches the girl walk past her toward the stairs. However when she saw one of the gang members carrying down a man tied up, her eyes widened.

“What are *you* doing here??” Ada gawks.
